    Description

Here is a very nice set of 4 Saturday Evening Girl's, Paul Revere Pottery cups and saucers.  They each have a landscape medallion with green trees, a lake, and a yellow sunset or sunrise sky.  The cup bodys and saucers are banded in two-tone blue.  Family provenance is as follows: this is from a set made by Lilly Shapiro for her friend Lillian (Levin) Lewis, sister of Stella (Levin) Kaye (who also received a dinner set on the occasion of her marriage) in the 1920s.  They are in great condition with only a hairline to one saucer and no other chips, cracks, repairs or firing flaws.    The saucers measure about 5 3/4 inches in diameter, the cup, 3 7/8 inches.  Together they are about 2 1/2 inches high.  In 1923 the name Paul Revere Pottery was incorporated and after that date pieces were marked with a die-stamped seal, or the ink-stamp like these are.   A good pieces of New England Arts & Crafts art pottery.  If you have any questions please click on our username or visit our store page and feel free to email through the gallery or call Jim Messineo at JMW Gallery.
