The coins have the shape of a circle, with an edge protruding around the circumference on the front and back sides. The side surface of the coins is notched.
Obverse
at the top is a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus, along the circle there is an inscription: REPUBLIC OF BELARUS; in the center in the oval there is an image of a chick on stylized palms, below it on the right is the year of minting (on the silver coin - the fineness of the alloy); below – denomination: 10 RUBLES (on silver) and 1 RUBEL (on copper-nickel).
Reverse
in the center in an oval there is a relief image of a bird; along the oval inscription: BIRD OF THE YEAR. WHITE TIT.
