The coin is round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coin’s edge is grained.
Obverse
:
at the top – the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus, below it there is an inscription: РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), in the center – the engraving from the title page of "The Book of Prophet Daniel" published by Francysk Skaryna; to the right and left – the ornament bearing inscriptions: the year of issue on the left; at the bottom in the centre — the denomination:

in the centre – against the background of the city view of Venice from the 15th с. engraving decorated with the plant ornament there is an image of the lion leaning against the open book; to the left and right of it– the signs of Skaryna’s engravings; under the composition there is an inscription ВЕНЕЦЫЯ (VENICE); at the top – a circumferential inscription ШЛЯХ СКАРЫНЫ (SKARYNA’S WAY).
