The coin is round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coin’s edge is grained.
Obverse:
at the top – the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus, below it there is an inscription: РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), in the center – the engraving from the title page of "The Book of Ruth" published by Francysk Skaryna; to the right and left – the ornament bearing inscriptions: the year of issue on the left; at the bottom in the centre — the denomination:

in the centre – the image of the city of Padua from the ancient engraving, from the left and from the right – the fragments of the ancient buildings; at the bottom – the image of the armillary sphere, oak leaf garlands and signs of Skaryna’s engravings; under the images there is an inscription ПАДУЯ (PADUA); at the top – a circumferential inscription ШЛЯХ СКАРЫНЫ (SKARYNA’S WAY).
