The coin is round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coin’s edge bears an inscription: "УМАЦАВАННЕ І АБАРОНА ДЗЯРЖАВЫ" ("STRENGTHENING AND DEFENDING THE STATE").
Obverse:
at the top – the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus, a circumferential inscription: РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), in the center – the scene of granting Mikalai Radziwill "Chorny" with the Princely title of the Holy Roman Empire on the background of the first page of the Brest Bible (the fragment of the painting from the exposition of the National and Culural Museum-Reserve in the town of Nesvizh ); at the bottom –denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES) and the year of issue, the alloy standard is on the right side.

:
in the centre –the relief image of Mikalai Radziwill "Chorny", and on the right a circumferential inscription: МІКАЛАЙ РАДЗІВІЛ ЧОРНЫ (MIKALAI RADZIWILL "CHORNY") and the years of his life: from 1515 to 1565.
