The coin is round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coin’s edge is grained.
Obverse:
at the top — the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus and the circumferential inscription: РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); in the center — a fragment of an engraving showing the Sun, the Moon, and stars; on the right — the alloy standard; at the bottom along the rim — the denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES) and the year of issue.
Reverse
: in the center — the stylized image of Leo and on the left the inscription: LEO; at the bottom – the zodiac sign of the constellation inlaid with Swarovski crystals.
