The coins have the shape of a circle, on the obverse and reverse sides there is a protruding edging along the circumference, a notched edge.
Obverse
at the top - a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus; in the center of the coin in a circle there is an image of a fragment of a two-sided four-faced belt made at the Slutsk manufactory (1760(1762)–1776) and kept in the collection of the Museum of Ancient Belarusian Culture (the fragment of the belt on the silver coin was made using pad printing); on the outer circle at the top is the inscription: REPUBLIC BELARUS; on the left - the year of minting, on the right - the assay of the alloy (on a silver coin) and an artistic element (on a copper-nickel coin), below - the denomination: 20 RUBLES (on a silver coin) and 1 RUBEL (on a copper-nickel coin).
Reverse
on the left in a circle is the inscription: SLUTSKIA PAYASY. weaving; on the left - an image of a merchant, symbolizing the trade relations of the city of Slutsk, on the right - a decorative composition consisting of the coat of arms of the city of Slutsk, a weaver at the loom, making traditional woven belts, and an image of the city (as a symbol of a developed center of manufactory production).
