The coin is round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coin’s edge bears inscriptions: ЗАКАЗНІКІ БЕЛАРУСІ (WILDLIFE RESERVES OF BELARUS) * ЗАКАЗНІК СЯРЭДНЯЯ ПРЫПЯЦЬ (THE MIDDLE REACHES OF THE PRYPYAT RIVER WILDLIFE RESERVE).
Obverse: against the ornamental pattern: at the top – the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus and an inscription: РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); in the center – the relief image of a plant known as Salvinia natans; at the bottom – the denomination:
РУБЕЛЬ (1 RUBLE)
; in the bottom left-hand part – an inscription: САЛЬВІНІЯ ПЛЫВУЧАЯ (SALVINIA NATANS); in the right-hand part – the year of issue.
Reverse: in the center – the relief image of a turtle against the background of a lake and its bank; at the top – an element of the traditional Belarusian ornament symbolizing life; at the bottom – an inscription: БАЛОТНАЯ ЧАРАПАХА (BOG TURTLE).
