7.25 Pound Monster FLINT CHERT Stone for Tomahawk Spearhead Axe Head Knapping, FREE SHIPPING
For sale is a single, extra-large, 7.25 pound stone made of central Texas chert / flint. Chert / flint stone such as this makes an excellent fire starter when struck with carbon steel. But due to this rock's rare large size, this stone would be idea for knapping into a large spear point, axe blade or tomahawk head.
Though irregularly shaped, it is roughly trapazoidal. At its longest points, the stone measures approximately 7" x 4"and is approximately 4 1/2" inches thick. Large stones such as this are hard to find.
This chert / flint rock has not been heat-treated or processed in any way. Because this is a natural product, it may contain some cracks, fissures, inclusions or fractures.
Chert and Jasper are the general name for several types of stone that are extremely hard and fracture into pieces with sharp edges. Flint is usually chert that is grey.
